Operation Eyesight Universal is a Canadian non-profit organization, working since 1963 in places like South Asia and Africa to support local eye doctors, educators and community leaders in their efforts to fight blindness. Their vision for the future is "A day when blindness in developing countries is all but eradicated. A day for all the world to see".
The Foundation Fighting Blindness is aiming to restore the gift of sight to people living with genetic forms of blindness and to find the causes, treatments and ultimately the cures for retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and related retinal diseases by supporting research and public awareness. The Foundation has grown to become Canada's leading private supporter of retina research, having given more than $16 million to groundbreaking eye research taking place at universities and hospitals across the country.
CNIB is a nationwide, community-based, registered charity committed to research, public education and vision health for all Canadians. CNIB provides the services and support necessary for people to enjoy a good quality of life while living with vision loss and his Mission is: to enhance independence for people with vision loss and to be the leader in promoting vision health.
